About the work
‘Good Listening’ in primary school settings means the adoption of a certain body posture. This rug comes from a research project called ‘Behavioural Management’, in which Kate Paul tried to speculatively interfere with the spatial ‘management’ of classrooms by considering dispersed attention, the interruption of a dead worm found in an educational soil display, and the social role of alienated internal feeling.
About the artist
Kate Paul is an artist working in writing, drawing, and performance. She also works in childcare, and is interested in regulation, dis-regulation, and everywhere that cannot be regulated.
